The Aborigines will be recognized as “the state’s first people and nations” in New South Wales, Australia, according to AAP news. The Premier Kristina Keneally introduced the legislation into parliament on Wednesday, September 8. The amendment of the preamble of the Constitution Act 1902 by the state’s lower house will acknowledge the Aborigines as the state’s first people and nations. The premier said that this event is a historical day for all people in New South Wales and a landmark step towards reconciliation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.Kristina Kerscher Keneally(born 19 December 1968) is an Australian and 42nd Premier of New South Wales. In 2003 she was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly seat of GHeffron. In 2007 she became the Minister for Ageing and Disability Services and subsequently appointed Minister for planning by incoming Premier Natan Rees in september 2008. On 3rd December 2009 the Australian Labur Party cauus elected her to replace Natan Rees as leader of theparliamentary party. She was sworn in as Premier on 4th December 2009.
