Education and Communication is a combination of two main sections known as Education specializing in Early Childhood and the Communication programme apart from the Literacy Programmes for Cultural Minorities.

U Lin Sein (Saya) is the Executive Secretary of the Department since January 2005. Rev. Raymond Pome Za Lyan (Programme Secretary) , Saya Aye Ko Min (Assistant Secretary), Nway Nway Ko (Web Master) are responsible for Communication Programmes and Sayama Bya Mi a new Programme Secretary for Education Section of the department with effect from January 2006 and Ma Ni Ni Myint is the office staff of the Department. The Literacy Programme for Cultural Minorities is a literacy promotion project for people in remote areas of the country and Rev. Thang Tin Sum is the responsible person of the project.
