The Communication Section of the Myanmar Council of Churches held a workshop on a Video Production Media Workshop in Myawaddy during 24-27 July 2007. 15 media enthusiasts from Churches in the area has participated the workshop which was hosted by the Church of Christ. Rev. John Min Bai, the Senior Pastor of the Church of Christ himself actively involved the program. The workshop focuses on video production for community in the area. Participants produced two a VCD of two songs, one in the form of action song and the other on story based. Myawaddy is located at the border of the Karen State and Thailand where there are various types of commercial trading and trafficking occur. It is also one of the busiest border cities of Myanmar.

The workshop included the followings subjects:

  1. Video Camera works
  2. Explanation on Production process such as (a). Preproduction(b) Production

(c) Post production etc. Different roles of the people involve in production such as producer, director, actors and actresses, script writers, shooting manager, cameramen, audio group and lighting group.

3. Media, the Church and Democratic Society

 

The Communication Section of Myanmar Council of Churches over 35 Media Workshops also has been conducted across Myanmar since 1999. The fundamental aim and object of the media workshop is to create a common platform of Digital Satellite Channel for the Myanmar Christians around the world. Each local community in Myanmar is expected to be able to produce their own records of activities and songs VCD by the end of 2009.
